An Integrated Safety Management System – Our iSMS blends process modelling of day-to-day operational tasks with bow tie risk analysis. The iSMS links tasks to risk controls and applies a control and monitoring loop for each activity to ensure the integrity of the system. This approach is being extended to management and organisational failures and linked to management tasks to complete the iSMS. The barrier rating system established originally for the assessment against risk acceptance criteria is being developed for rating of the management system (See also Active Bow Tie).
